Mint your next immersive audio on SoundsOfThings
The online future is non-fungible. The time when it was difficult to tell who has the original copy of a digital asset or to track its provenance successfully without relying on centralized service providers is over.
Blockchain technology has made it possible to turn digital assets into rare and valuable sovereign items on the internet. Now you can own and pass ownership of a digital asset like a photo, video, or audio as you would a piece of physical art.

When it is passed to others, as is the case if you email it or share it on a social networking site, a digital file replicates itself. Because of this, a photo, video, or audio can easily exist in millions of copies, and it is difficult to tell which one is the original one.
However, when minted on the blockchain, a digital asset is prevented from replicating itself every time it is sent or shared. Even where several copies of the same file can be created on the blockchain, it is easy to tell which one of them is the original one.
What is Minting
Minting is the process of turning your digital asset into a non-fungible token (NFT). It is basically uploading and storing the file or digital assets such as an image, video, audio, or a character on the blockchain.
The blockchain is a ledger or a virtual machine on a decentralized peer-to-peer network.
Why is it necessary to mint audio
Once a digital asset is on the blockchain, any transaction affecting it must be approved by the decentralized peer-to-peer network using a consensus protocol. Besides, it becomes immutable, its inherent characteristics cease to change.
Also, the asset’s transactions are recorded on a public ledger, making it easy to authenticate the provenance of a digital asset. This enables convenient trading of the asset in a marketplace through peer-to-peer transactions.
The value of minted audio
The SoundsOfThings metaverse creates the environment on the internet that makes it possible to mint, trade, and consume immersive sounds known as Sound Emotions as non-fungible tokens.
It provides a portal through which users can upload their Sound Emotions and make them available to other users.
Audio assets on the SoundsOfThings metaverse have a sentimental value. Indeed, some might have therapeutic value, which adds to what they are worth in the marketplace.
To increase the value of the Sound Emotion NFTs in the SoundsOfThings metaverse even further, the platform requires that only those that get the approval of users to a specific threshold get minted.
Users are incentivized to vote for the best content pieces they come across. For every vote, they stand to earn a reward in the form of the platform’s native SOT token.
More NFTs
Besides immersive audio files, other digital assets are minted into NFTs in the SoundsOfThings metaverse.
These include Sound Villages, virtual spaces on a map, and soundtracks, professionally composed music mixed with raw recordings from the environment to create Sound Emotions.
